Rigid polymer fiber is used instead of steel fibers for reinforcement of cement mortars. Compared with steel fibers, it is easier to spread and mixed in cement mixing, without bringing damage to the concrete mixing and feed equipment. As raw material for the production of rigid polymer fibre is used polypropylene PRIMARY. This type of fiber has a high tensile strength. This type of fiber is an alternative to using steel fiber designed for heavy concretes and screeds operated in harsh environments.

The effect of
The use of rigid polymer fiber can significantly reduce costs in comparison with steel fibers (specific gravity of steel fiber is about 9 times more, respectively, the number of individual fibres is less). Usage instructions
The volume fraction of the reinforcing fiber in heavy concrete shall be not less than 0.3 %, which corresponds to 2.7 kg of tough polymeric fibers.
Depending on the type of concrete and the conditions of use recommended amount of hard polypropylene fibers varies within the following limits:
-industrial floors, screed: 1.5 m-4.7 kg/m3 (corresponds to 25-40 kg of steel fibers)
-structural elements of residential buildings: 2.9 to 5.8 kg/m3 (corresponding to 25-50 kg of steel fibers)
-structural elements of tunnels, roads, mines: 5,8-11,6 kg/m3 (corresponds to 50-100 kg of steel fibers)
-hydraulic structures (dams, bridges), Bank vault: 11,6-14,0 kg/m3 (corresponds to 100-120 kg of steel fibers).
Fiber length: to give the heavy concrete of the required resistance to cracking are used, the fiber length less than 40 mm.
